As you know, we had time in the U.S. this last summer...
Before Byron returned home, we spent some days helping his father, Oscar, move from assisted living toward full-time care. Returning to the retirement community where Oscar lives, we were reminded again what it looks like to cultivate faithfulness. Hundreds of former missionaries and pastors who cultivated faithfulness all over the globe continue to do the same as they care for one another, and the world they’ve traveled. There is a tangible presence of grace and joy among this fascinating crew of people. There is a delight in the Lord that is deep and real.
As we settle back into the routines of our work, we are inspired by the idea of cultivation. The action of preparing, weeding, softening and aerating is critical to fruitfulness. Would you pray with us that we are effective in our efforts to cultivate faithfulness in our own hearts, as well as in hearts all around us?
May each of us practice cultivation in the land where Lord has placed us. Thank you for helping us grow faithfulness in East Africa!
