We had a great visit last month from the guys at the Institute for Affordable Transportation in the States. These brainiacs are the ones who are responsible for the whole BUV (Basic Utility Vehicle) idea, design and dream. They have big hearts and great minds and their visit to observe, learn and advise was incredibly helpful. While we faced some challenges as things we had hoped to do while they were here couldn't be done because of inevitable shipping delays and other frustrations that are so common in Africa, the time together was mutually valuable. There's nothing like getting up close and personal with a project or program, seeing things in the reality of the unique environment, to get a clear picture and begin to grapple with how to really help it succeed.
We are deeply thankful on many levels. From gleaning wisdom to building friendships, it was a super trip. Thanks so much for coming! We appreciate you so much and look forward to our continued efforts together :) (Photo: A few of the IAT folks on a golden afternoon when Byron and Scott took them out to enjoy the views.)
