FACILITATING ENTERPRISE

Wema Ventures aims to break poverty's grip in individual lives and communities through training and assistance for micro enterprise and the development of small to medium sized businesses that provide gainful employment while operating as outposts of the Kingdom of God. Through relational or formalized partnerships, Wema fosters dignifying economic sustainability for local people. Wema Ventures forms strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations and individuals, whether they be donors who give time or funding, or teammates and networks on the ground.

MICRO ENTERPRISE

Through micro enterprise we help individuals start small endeavors, gaining traction in the effort to establish a reasonable and steady income for themselves.

SMALL-TO-MEDIUM BUSINESS CREATION

By facilitating the birth of small-to-medium businesses, we help eager entrepreneurs establish endeavors with broader potential. Communities benefit from stimulated economy and the multiplication of goods, services and jobs.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

Believing in the power of partnership, we team with like-minded individuals and organizations to pair skills, increase resources and multiply results.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH

We believe that the best development in needy regions involves not only the development of viable economic sustainability, but also of authentic faith in the living Christ. We're involved in Biblical studies, spiritual direction, prayer groups, teaching, preaching, mentoring and one to one encouragement. We write, travel, speak, meet for lunch or gather on our porch. We take expeditions with visitors, drink chai with locals and wrestle with faith and following Christ on a daily basis.

IN THE BIBLE

We embrace the Scriptures as God's Word and our operating instructions for life. Our values in private life and public service are directly impacted by the truths we find within this God-breathed book.

UP IN PRAYER

We give everything up in prayer. Recognizing our inadequacy, we lean on the help and power of God, seeking Him for guidance and inviting Him into all things.

OUT IN LIFE

Encouraging faith can mean being intentional about spiritual development or simply putting the kettle on and making time to listen. Our desire is that we experience God in the normal, while expecting Him to move supernaturally.

WHY WE DO IT

Our strong conviction is that faith and service must walk hand in hand if the love of God is going to transform this hurting world. Sadly, some “service” has caused debilitating dependency in needy places. Wema Ventures seeks to stimulate real empowerment through viable economic growth by facilitating the establishment of small to medium sized businesses. We do this through strategic partnerships with local people and like-minded organizations. Our work excites us because we're not talking about statistics and remote communities. We’re talking about friends and neighbors—people we care about in places we love.
